In the foreground, hunters on foot are gathered. Two are talking to each other, two others are speaking to horsemen. All seem to be wondering. In big game hunting, this scene illustrates the preliminary moment when the hunters make the "report" (report) of the animals whose tracks they have detected. The horseman, on the right, to whom the hunters are speaking, was thought to represent Mary of Hungary, sister of Charles V, because of her way of riding astride, which earned her the nickname "the Male Huntress." But we currently see Ferdinand. In the background stretch the ponds and the buildings of the priory and the church of Rouge-Cloître. Monks are walking along the first pond.
This tapestry, a replica of the original 17th century work (Gobelins Museum), was made by hand screen printing in the workshops of the renowned Artis Flora.
