"High-Stepping Horse, " Unique Art Deco Midcentury Ceramic Relief Sculpture

About the Item

Demonstrating a modern take on Etruscan and other ancient sculpture, this 1941-vintage relief rondel depicts a high-stepping horse and a leafing branch, all bathed in a clotted, dusty-rose glaze that is lovely. The piece is signed "Morningstar" on the reverse, but nothing is known about the artist. This piece can be displayed on a table Stand or hung on a wall.
