About the Item

This rare majolica tile panel, produced by the important Karlsruhe manufactory in southwest Germany, depicts a male nude on horseback, accompanied by a pony of the same hue. The factory was established in 1901 by Grand Duke Friedrich I, and was known for commissioning artists to create artistic ware of the first order.
