Museum Quality Hand Crafted Bronze Corpus of Jesus Christ fr Wall Mounting 19thC
Located in Lisse, NL
Stunning, one of a kind bronze corpus of Christ. The meaning of this antique sculpture obviously needs no explanation. However, not everybody looks at the corpus of Christ with the same ideas and emotions. And each individual may also have different emotions and ideas depending on his or her state of mind at a certain moment in the day or at a certain time in his or her life. Besides that, every artist/sculptor may also have his or her own ideas of what he or she is trying to express and communicate. What is important to us, is that a work of religious art speaks to us. If it speaks to us then almost always there will also be someone else who sees the beauty, deeper meaning, quality, style and uniqueness. This particular corpus stands out for its exceptional physical details and its painful facial features. We also rarely seen an antique Christ sculpture...

Italian Black and White Carrara Marble Mosaic Tiles with Florentine Monuments
Located in Firenze, IT
In the present work small handcut tiles of pure white Carrara marble are the background of this interesting contemporary mosaic which represents one of the most celebrated landmark in Florence. The facade of the church of Santo Spirito (Holy Spirit), designed and built by Brunelleschi, is created with precious beige-colored Botticino marble tiles and surrounded by a frame of small black glass glazed paste tiles. Carrara and Botticino are among the most famous Tuscan marbles that’s why the local mosaic artist and craftswoman- who creates this superb work of art- decided that the mosaic featuring the most important symbol of Florence should be made of these materials. To make the composition more interesting, two different types of Carrara marble were used: the statuary white marble is matte and the white Carrara marble called "zuccherino" (sugary) is more sparkling. The random alternation of these two marbles give a pleasant vivid and three-dimensional effect to the entire mosaic tile. Each small rectangular and squared tesserae are hand cutted and each one of these mosaic is one of a kind. The mosaic plaque has a wood panel as support and the tile is housed in hand painted giltwood frame. The tile on sale and immediately available now is 15x15 cm and reproduces the church of Santo Spirito (Holy Spirit)- as you can see in the main image- but many other mosaic with the most important symbols and monuments of Florence are available as the Old Bridge, Santa Maria Novella, Florence's Cathedral with the Brunelleschi's dome or the Lily symbol of the city and so on, as showed in the photos. These white and black marble mosaic tiles...

Large & Amazing Quality Carved Antique Corpus of Jesus Christ for Wall Mounting
Located in Lisse, NL
One of a kind, near-lifesize wooden corpus of Christ. Apart from its truly large size this particular hand carved corpus of Christ has the best ever details when it comes to the human anatomy. One could say that whomever sculpted this piece had a god given talent, because (especially) for a piece this size the quality of the carvings and therefor the realistic look and feel of this corpus is right up there with the work of some of the old masters. This marvelous church sculpture of Christ also stands out for its exceptional and calm facial features. It is often said that one can also recognize the level of the workmanship of a painter or a sculptor by the quality in the detials of the hands and feet. Unfortunately most of the fingers of this top quality carved antique sculpture are missing, but the ones that are there are indeed exceptional. Fortunately the feet are almost entirely intact and they too are truly great. At some point in time this work of religious art was 'leached' and we therefor don't know if this piece originally was polychrome painted or patinated. Given the quality of the carvings and the way it acquired its new patina, we feel it has given this amazing corpus a truly ancient look and feel. Almost as if it was a weathered Renaissance original. We have owned this antique for some six years and He will be missed, but now have decided it is time that He should be worshipped again in a house of prayer. Perhaps in a church or a monastery. This unique antique was once part of a very large church crucifix, but with the one strong hook that is in the back (see image 15), safely mounting this divine corpus on your wall will take no more than a few minutes either. Mind you, if this unique and top quality carved antique church corpus had been completely intact, it would have cost at least three times our price. Whether this Christian antique...
