About the Item
An absolutely spectacular bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in rich 18kt yellow gold, this stunning piece displays a vibrant turquoise stone set in the center of a Rose Cut diamond-encrusted six-point star. The turquoise and diamond star centerpiece is riveted into the front surface, set in a slightly raised manner, while seven arrows beam from the central design. The French phrase "Dieu vous voit" (which translates to "God sees you" in English) curves along the bottom of the design, each letter of the elegant font lined with sparkling old Rose Cut diamonds. Incredibly delicate lines of black enameling act as shadows around the lettering and arrows to increase the design's depth, perfectly completely the jaw-dropping look. The wide, smoothly polished bangle hinges at each side to expand for the wearer's wrist and secures with a discrete push clasp in the back. The bracelet contours around the central design and has a very slight taper as it continues to the closure. Although unable to find hallmarks, based on the use of 18kt gold, the hinge style, as well as the language used, we believe the bracelet is of French origin. This museum-quality piece would be a phenomenal addition to the collection of a Victorian jewelry aficionado.
The inside of the bracelet (in which a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/8" wide and 1 7/8" tall. The bracelet would suit a small- to average-sized wrist. The bracelet's main design, from the beginning to end of the "Dieu vous voit" lettering, measures approximately 1 3/4" wide. The band's width tapers from 1 1/4" at the front to 3/4" at the closure. Due to the nature of this bracelet, it cannot be resized.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. There are topical scratches from wear, but this is typical of a piece of this age. All of the Rose Cut diamonds are securely set and intact. The black enameling is intact with minimal wear. The hinges and the push clasp are in excellent condition.
