Sabona cuff designed by Cartier. Very rare piece, created by the jewelry house of Cartier, back in the 1970. This Sabona cuff was crafted in solid 18 karat yellow gold, with high polished finish and solid pure .999 copper. Those kind of bracelets were made between the 1969 and 1974 in collaboration with the British company settle in New York, Empire. Has a total weight of 25.95 Grams and fit a wrist up to 7.5 Inches (19 Cm). The width measure is 7 mm and it is somewhat flexible to adjust the size up or down. Stamped, with the maker's mark, the hallmarks for the assay of the gold, the serial numbers and signed, "CARTIER © SABONA 18KT 63273". History: Empire-Sabona was established in 1959 in New York and in the late 1960 to the early 1970's, Sabona was successfully selling in the United States the copper, the silver and the gold-plated copper cuff bracelets directly to the stores Bonwit Teller on 6th avenue, Sachs of 5th Avenue, and Neiman Marcus, then Sabona cuffs became the height of fashion. In 1969 Cartier of 5th Avenue approached the Empire-Sabona company with the intention to put 18 karat gold frames on the Sabona copper bracelets and have the trademarks of Sabona and Cartier together in the bracelets. For about seven years the Sabona-Cartier bracelet was sold in the USA and by Sabona in London. Many famous people wore the Sabona/Cartier bracelet including the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Coco Chanel, Baron Guy des Rothschild and Pierre Cardin. This is a very hard to find original Cartier Sabona cuff bracelet in 18 karat yellow gold and copper. Note: The authorized edition was for only 500 pieces, this model also exist with plain design, without the double C'S of the Cartier monogram and with silver frames. Note: The selling price to the public 40-years ago was US$100 each, the Sabona/Cartier bracelet stopped being available around 1974.
