Rare Gem-Set Gold Enamelled Armlet 'Bazuband' Mughal India 18th/19thCentury

A rare late 18th /early 19th C Indian Mughal "Bazuband or Bajuband" with 11 gemstones (North India, Lucknow). The armband of rectangular form with hinged attachments on either, in the manner of a "Navratna". Centring upon a flowerhead white sapphire surrounded by petals on a green enamel ground and a thin blue enamel border. Mounted in + 22K Gold, with an outstanding enamel work on the reverse with flowers and petals in red and blue against a white ground, and with green champlevé enamel; measurements: 7 cm across X 4.5 cm.Weight: 36,26 gr Late 18th/Early 19th Century, North India. Exhibited 2014 with Ref.: 42939 in Mumbay and Delhi in Saffronart. Navaratna is a Sanskrit compound word meaning "nine gems" or "ratnas". Jewellery created in this style has important cultural significance in Asian cultures as a symbol of wealth, status, and also as having other claimed talismanic benefits to health and wellbeing.     Dazzling pair of museum quality chandelier earrings (collector's item), with electric foiled Emeralds. Inlaid with rose-cut and table-cut diamonds. Superbly preserved, dating from the late 18th century (1780). A set of sparkling flat rose-cut diamonds decorates each earring along with sixteen vibrant step-cut green emeralds. They range in value from 0.15ct (6 emeralds) to 1.20ct (8 emeralds), and total approximately 10ct in both. The galleries have ornate detailing and are fitted with three droppers at the bottom with a hinge in the center to allow them to swing and dance freely. The earrings preserve its original clip hooks and are divided into three bodies, the upper one can be separated and worn independently. Size: Height 80mm (78mm inc. hooks) x Width 23mm x Depth 5.5mm. Metal: Silver/ 18ct Gold (Tested) Stones: Emeralds (Major 6.46mmx 5.38mm, approx. 1.20ct each - 10 carats total), Diamonds (approx. 4ct total).
