Antique Friendship Forget Me Not Sentimental Token Bracelet 14 KaratGold Clasp
About the Item
This handcrafted bracelet was intended as a sentimental token of friendship. The perfectly woven brown hair bracelet is made up out of six individually woven thin ropes. The bracelet has a wonderful elasticity. The clasp is made out of 14 karat yellow gold and decorated with turquoise cabochons. The barrel clasp is embellished with a stylized forget me not. The bracelet obtains additional stability with the help of two gold rings through which the hair rope has been threaded.
Jewellery using woven hair was a popular and very personal gift worn by man and women throughout the first half of the nineteenth century.
