About the Item

Art Deco Ruby and Diamond Ropework Plaque Link Bracelet, Portuguese, circa 1930s–1940s. A striking expression of Art Deco geometry and Portuguese craftsmanship, this bold plaque link bracelet is a celebration of sculptural design and refined detail. Composed of alternating ruby and diamond-set panels, each link showcases an intricate ropework motif in richly hued 800‰ rose gold (19.2 karat, the Portuguese standard), crowned at the center with a bezel-set gem—either a glowing circular-cut ruby or a shimmering Old European-cut diamond. Seven vibrant rubies echo the rhythmic structure of seven glittering diamonds. The alternating pattern brings a visual harmony to the piece, heightened by the textured gold which adds both depth and tactile luxury. Platinum accents around the diamonds provide subtle contrast and underline the period's penchant for mixed metals. Details • Diamonds: 7 Old European brilliant-cut; estimated 0.35ct total • Rubies: 7 circular-shape • Lisbon hallmark (used 1938-1984) for 800‰ (19.2kt) gold and 500‰ platinum • Dimensions: Approx. 18.5cm • Weight: 46g ••• NOTES All items are presented in very good condition, with surface wear and age-related marks consistent with their antique or vintage nature. All jewels—whether signed or unsigned—are offered as worn, reflecting their history and authenticity. Unless otherwise specified, all weights, assessments, and attributions are based on standard gemmological practices and mounting allowances. Variations may occur when cross-referenced with third-party valuations. Colors may differ slightly between screen and natural lighting.
