1.52 Carat Aquamarine and 2.92 Carat Diamond, 18k White Gold Double Clip Brooch

About the Item

A stunning, fine and impressive antique 1.52 carat aquamarine and 2.92 carat diamond, 18 karat white gold and platinum set double clip brooch; part of our antique 1920s jewelry collections. This stunning, fine and impressive antique 1920s brooch has been crafted in 18k white gold with a platinum setting. The pierced decorated, double clip brooch setting displays two feature collet set cushion cut aquamarines. The segmented frame is embellished with sixty Old European round cut diamonds, in a combination of collet and pavé settings, creating a tiered Art Deco design. The geometric design may be unclipped and separated into two individual clip brooches via a pierced decorated removable frame to the reverse. The antique brooch as a whole secures with a hinged pin fastening to the reverse of the removable frame; when separated the brooches secure with a double pronged hinged clip fastening. This impressive aquamarine and diamond double clip brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 karat gold and platinum. This stunning antique brooch is supplied with an IDGL diamond grading report card. Such double clip brooches set with aquamarines are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. NOTE: The duette (or double clip) style brooch increased in popularity in the first half of the twentieth century; they flourished during the Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements due to the use of symmetry of organic designs. Due to their versatility, they can be simply worn as an eye-catching single brooch, whereas the two matching brooches could be utilised as collar clips, hat clips, shoes clips, and hair clips. Images do not always reflect the true color and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual color and showcases each stone. Condition This stunning antique brooch is exceptional quality, set with an impressive aquamarine displaying fine color and brilliance. The very well color matched, very high color graded diamonds display a fine white color and brilliance. The brooch is an excellent gauge of gold and is in excellent condition, with a clear French import mark to the rim of the setting. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of antique aquamarine jewelry/estate jewelry.
