Antique 17th / 18th Century English Foiled Stuart Crystal Stick Pin

About the Item

A fine antique Stuart Crystal stick pin. Set with a faceted rock crystal, traces of pink and red foil, and a gold wire cypher. The pin is likely adapted from an early 17th or 18th Century button. Stuart Crystals memorialized the slain King Charles I and were most often diminutive pieces that had to be worn secretly. Mounted with a later gold filled pin. Simply a wonderful early English historical stick pin! Date: Late 17th or Early 18th Century (pin mounting likely late 18th or 19th Century) Overall Condition: It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: With some losses to the foil in the pin and bends to the pin stem. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
