Antique Enamel Violet Pendant or Brooch of 14k Gold
About the Item
During Victorian and Edwardian times the gift of violets suggested that the giver's thoughts were occupied with love.
A perfect love token, this purple enamel brooch/pendant features a lustrous pearl accent at its center.
The piece measures 1.1 inches from top to bottom by 0.9 inches wide. The violet is in very good condition; however, the safety catch is a later replacement, as is the ring at the top of the collapsible bail. The brooch bears the maker's mark for Bippart & Co. on the reverse.
The metal content of this brooch was verified via XRF (x ray analysis) and with jeweler's acids.
