Antique Limoges Enamel Portrait Brooch Renaissance Revival Gilt Metal
About the Item
This Limoges Enamel is set in a frame made out of gilt metal. It shows a portrait of a Renaissance knight in all his aristocratic regalia. We can see a velvet doublet and a typical renaissance hat with a large feather. Doublet and hat show gold threading which indicates the aristocratic background of the young squire.The gilt frame is surrounded by an ornamental three dimensional frame before a geometric background consisting of vertical bars.
