Antique Monkeys Diamond Natural Pearl Ruby Sapphire Brooch Silver Gold French

About the Item

Antique Circus Monkeys Diamond, Natural Pearl, Burmese Ruby and Sapphire Brooch in Silver and Gold by Bernard Zweig, France, circa 1905. Behold a rare and enchanting piece of jewelry artistry - a captivating antique monkeys brooch, crafted in France around 1905. Monkey-themed jewelry is among the rarest to find, and this exquisite creation showcases the whimsy and skill of the era. This unique brooch features two bejeweled circus monkeys, meticulously crafted in silver. One of the playful primates sits gracefully on a horizontal bar made of yellow gold adorned with natural pearls. From this golden perch, another monkey dangles, holding onto an articulated rope with delightful agility. The top monkey is a spectacle of brilliance, its front body adorned with a pave-setting of single-cut and rose-cut diamonds. Its eyes sparkle with blue sapphires, and a charming ruby hat adds a touch of vibrant color. The hanging monkey, equally adorned with diamonds, boasts ruby eyes, a ruby hat, and a surprise - the back is also adorned with rubies and a sapphire. Bernard Zweig's masterful craftsmanship is evident in every detail of this exceptional brooch. A true testament to the creativity of the early 20th century, this piece not only captures the spirit of the time but also stands as a testament to the rarity of monkey-themed jewelry. An extraordinary addition to any collection, this brooch invites you to cherish the playfulness and uniqueness of antique jewelry art.
