About the Item
This glorious Art Deco masterpiece is not only significantly gorgeous -it's delightfully versatile. Wear it around your neck as the focal-point of a dog collar or ribbon, pin it to a lapel, scarf, or top and it's a brooch. But lift the corners and the brooch disassembles itself to become two individual triangular "dress clips" that can be worn as collar points or singly as a smaller brooch.
Rendered in gleaming platinum and measuring approximately 42mm long and 21mm wide, this circa 1920s jewel features a pair of creamy-white natural (non-cultured) saltwater pearls. The rare, natural pearls measure 5.8mm and 5.63mm.
These lustrous pearls are accompanied by a pair of bright, fancy yellow old-mine cut diamonds, each weighing approximately .50 carats. There are two additional fancy yellow old-mine diamonds paired together at each end. Small white diamonds occupy the remainder of the brooch for a total diamond weight of approximately 2.28 carats. Unlike most yellow diamonds today, these rare stones were not irradiated to achieve their vivid color; they are natural.
The yellow diamonds are simply stunning. And natural sea pearls are among the rarest gems in the world, treasured for centuries for their luminous beauty.
