A Belle Époque gold buck stick pin
About the Item
A Belle Époque gold buck stick pin, the realistically carved buck attached to a gold pin, bearing gold eagle mark and indistinct makers mark, circa 1900, the doe measuring approximately 1.7 x 1.2cm, the pin measuring 6.3cm long, gross weight 2.9 grams.
This antique pin is in very good condition for its age. Marked and tested as 18ct gold.
A naturalistic Belle Epoque buck stick pin which comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. There are six species of deer are living wild in Great Britain: Scottish red and roe deer are native and have lived in the isles for thousands of years. Fallow deer have been reintroduced twice, by the Romans and the Normans, after dying out in the last ice age. This brooch is a lovely and naturalistic piece and would add the perfect touch to silk tie or the lapel of a jacket.
