About the Item
Classic Sterling Silver Brooch Ribbon and Flower Design, c1942, Signed Hobé. This is a classic collector's Hobé Sterling Silver floral and ribbon brooch with a rose in the center and buds set on a double ribbon bow. The brooch was designed in 1942 and patented by W. W Hobé. The pin is signed "Hobé STERLING DESIGN PAT'D." With locking pin closure and a beautiful patina.
Hobé et Cie was founded by Jacques Hobé in France in 1887. While he was trained as a master goldsmith, his business focused primarily on finely crafted sterling silver jewelry. William Hobé, his son, moved to the United States around 1920 continuing his family's reputation for producing high quality jewelry.
