EGYPTIAN LION 1970 Brooch In 18Kt Gold With 4.27 Ctw In Diamonds & Emeralds

About the Item

A modernist brooch in the shape of an Egyptian Lion. This is a fabulous modernist brooch created in Italy, back in the 1970. The brooch has been crafted in the shape of a stylized ancient Egyptian lion sculpture in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with parts in white gold for the settings of the diamonds. The eyes are embellished with two Colombian emeralds and the lion's mane with sixty-one natural white colorless diamonds of different cuts. The brooch is fitted at the reverse with a hinge double pins bars and a mechanical trombone shaped security lock. The craftsmanship is exceptional with magnificent details. The design is inspired by an ancient Egyptian piece exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Country: Italy. Period: Modernism, 1970. Diamonds: Mount in four-prongs settings, with 28 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, with a total weight of about 1.68 carats, white colorless F color, VS clarity. Diamonds: Mount in single prongs settings, with 12 calibrated tapered baguette cut diamonds, with a total weight of about 0.72 carats, white colorless F color, VS clarity. Emeralds: Mount in bezel settings, with 2 round cabochon cuts natural Colombian green emeralds, with a total weight of about 0.40 carats. Weight: 40.8 Grams, (26.15 Dwt). Georgian convertible brooch and pendant. Great antique piece, created in England during the Georgian period, circa 1820. This is a convertible pendant brooch carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and accented with applications of black enamel. Embelished with fine selection of gemstones such Dutch rose cuts diamonds and a Colombian emerald. It is fitted at the reverse with a hinged pin bar with a security hook to wear as a brooch. Outstanding jeweled Pendant-Brooch designed by Verdura. An iconic vintage piece, designed in 1950 by Verdura as a stylized asymmetric eight pointed Maltese cross. It was individually assembled by pieces, crafted in solid 18 karats of high polished yellow gold and embellished with gemstones. Suited at the reverse with a hinged vertical double pins bars with a trombone lock. Can be wear as a pendant too.
