Georgian Topaz and Pearl Cluster Brooch

About the Item

A Georgian golden topaz and pearl cluster brooch, the cushion-cut topaz measuring approximately 13 x 13 mm, yellow gold cutdown collet-set to the centre of a natural pearl cluster surround, the pearls each measuring approximately 2.5 mm in diameter, a smaller seed pearl set inbetween each one, all set to a yellow gold closed-back mount and brooch fitting, circa 1800, measuring approximately 2 x 2cm, gross weight 7.9 grams. This brooch is in good condition. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold. This gorgeous topaz and pearl brooch comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. It features a lovely central cushion cut honey-hued topaz stone which is surrounded by a frame of lustrous pearls. The pearls complement the topaz wonderfully, and the yellow gold setting further brings out the warm tones in both the topaz and the pearl. This sweet piece is full of history, dating back to around 1800, and would look charming pinned to a silk scarf. Should you choose to make this purchase we would be delighted to send it to you in a Bentley & Skinner handmade leather case packed in a gift-wrapped Bentley & Skinner black and gold presentation box. Shortly afterwards we will send you on a valuation for insurance purposes for your reference and safekeeping.
