A late Victorian diamond-set pheasant stick-pin, the realistically carved pheasant with a cabochon ruby set eye and old-cut diamonds set through the body, estimated to weigh 0.3 carats in total, mounted in silver to gold pin fitting, circa 1900, unmarked, tested as silver and 14ct gold, measuring 2.5 x 1.8cm, the pin measuring 6.2cm long, gross weight 4.6 grams.
This antique pin is in very good condition for its age. Unmarked, tested as silver and 14ct gold.
This elegant late Victorian shimmering pheasant stickpin is part of the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London distinguished jewellers by appointment to His Majesty the King. The realistically carved pheasant, with a cabochon ruby set eye, is adorned with old-cut diamonds throughout its body, giving the stickpin a great luminosity. While its setting in silver and gold enhances the Victorian craftmanship and adds to the overall charm.
