This is an absolutely stunning and very rare antique Victorian - Belle Epoque Shell Cameo Pendant Brooch Pin with a hand carved image of the Madonna with Child and a Guardian Angel watching set in a gorgeous 10 Karat Yellow Gold frame. Cameos with three figures are very rare and the imagery of this cameo is highly unusual and desirable. The beautiful setting of the cameo is a braided motif in 10 Karat Gold.
The cameo is of extraordinary beauty and the imagery is very rare. The halos on the figures are gorgeous as are the drapes of the clothing, the and the faces of the Madonna, child and angel. The cameo brooch can be easily converted to a pendant necklace if desired.
Cameo jewels are all the rage today and this is one of the most beautiful carved gems we have seen. The Guardian Angel and Madonna and Child is a delicate romantic jewel of the utmost beauty and style. The cameo brooch dates to circa 1850-1900.
The brooch is 1 1/4 inches (3.2 cm) tall and is 1 1/2 inches (3.6cm) wide.
