Natural Pearl & Diamond Brooch Shaped like an Iris. Incredible Quality.

About the Item

Brooch, necklace enhancer, pendant: It's all of these things and so much more. My question is, why is it still for sale? What is the matter with you people? I mean, seriously. Do you think I have it wildly overpriced? I would pay 9K for it in a heartbeat. So I've taken additional photos and I'm uploading it again, fresh, like new listing. Because this is a luxurious jewel if ever there was one. And is not the 1stdibs shopper a connoisseur of the world's finest, most unique treasures? Open up that crocodile wallet of yours and acquire this precious treasure, already. I've just lowered the price but I am tempted to raise it, as punishment. Thing brooch is completely magnificent and it should have sold the day I listed it. It contains no pre-fab parts. Even the pin in the back is made by hand. Only the plastic thingy is prefab and you can remove it. Four baroque natural, uncultured river pearls -gleaming and iridescent- together resemble with stunning accuracy an iris flower; a design further emphasized by the central .10 carat European diamond that is so much finer in quality than it needs to be at this size, and the two platinum "leaves" that so elegantly drape downward, with each leaf holding a trio of tiny white European diamonds that together weigh approximately .05 carats. Every millimeter is exquisite. And unlike modern cultured pearls, these natural pearls display the spectral display of light beneath their surface known as orient. (I haven't sent the brooch to a gem lab but I believe all the pearls are natural saltwater pearls. If they are cultured, they come from an era when pearls stayed in the water for much longer and developed very thick nacre. But given their shape, they would be large Keshi Akoya pearls. Turn the brooch over and admire the exquisite workmanship of the 18K yellow gold frame. The pearls measure from the top, clockwise: 15mm x 11mm, 14mm x 8.16mm, 14.33mm x 9.91mm, 13.10mm x 6.75mm. You can also wear it as a necklace enhancer. I have it featured on a luxury-sized strand of 9mm cultured Akoya pearls with a diamond ball clasp from the 1980s and the color match is excellent. This 18" necklace is item number LU1589111026612 and is currently on sale. Jewelry like this is why I love jewelry: it's made with the finest ingredients in nature, by somebody with incredible creativity, impeccable taste, and the skill required to execute their vision.
