Edwardian Pearl Diamond and Ruby Brooch
About the Item
An Edwardian pearl diamond and ruby brooch, to the centre three pearls horizontally set with two swiss-cut diamonds in-between, surrounded by a marquise-shape frame encrusted with calibre-cut rubies and an outer frame consisted of twelve pearls alternating with twelve swiss-cut diamonds, all mounted in platinum and gold, with gold brooch fittings, to original fitted case by Carrington & Co, circa 1910, measuring approximately 3.6x1.8cm, gross weight 6.1 grams.
Unmarked tested as 18ct and Platinum. Edwardian brooch in excellent condition
A sophisticated early 20th century brooch from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. An open marquise of ruby contrasts perfectly its harmonious pearl and diamond surround.
