About the Item
This very Art Deco 5 inch Pomerantz Amber Jelly Belly Bird Brooch Pin is absolutely amazing. It is a superb collector's piece that is rarely found, particularly in this fabulous amber color. H. Pomerantz Inc. N.Y. was in business from 1880-1940. The "H" in the name tag was used until 1930 and then dropped. This brooch is signed H. Pomerantz thus dates to prior to 1930.
The monumental bird brooch measures 5 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide.
The body is gold tone metal. The bird is adorned with white rhinestones for the crest of the head, across the back and the tail feathers.
The H. POMERANTZ INC. N.Y. tag is on the back at the top of the tail.
Designer pieces of this quality and size are a rarity. It is a fabulous statement jewel to wear or to add to your designer costume, jelly belly, or figural collection of vintage antique jewelry.

A rare Art Deco Egyptian Revival masterpiece of a Winged Scarab Insect Brooch done in Plique a Jour Enamel over Silver. The Museum Quality brooch depicts a winged Scarab beetle, one of the signature motifs of the Egyptian Revival movement.
The brooch is done with extraordinary Purple and Green iridescent Plique a Jour Enamel. Plique Enamel requires the skills of a master artisan to create. When finished, the Plique enamel creates a see through enamel which allows light to shine through, reminiscent of a stained glass window. This brooch is a masterpiece of the technique and one of the most beautiful pieces we have seen. The brooch pin is Silver with a gold wash. It dates to the Art Nouveau to Art Deco period, circa 1880-1920. It has its early C-clasp. The brooch could be easily converted to a pendant necklace if desired.
