Wonderful Art Deco Diamond and Emerald brooch from the 1930's, set in platinum by Ostertag, France. This lovely design is very reminiscent of Coco Chanel's logo who was his neighbor in the period, where he was located at 16 Place Vendome. Conjoined "C" motifs are are laid with a ladder of diamond baguettes edged with round stones terminating in 2 large diamonds (over 1 carat each) on one end and large fluted Columbian teardrops with tiny pave ball caps on the other. A late Victorian demantoid garnet and diamond brooch, the naturalistically modelled lizard encrusted with rose-cut diamonds and embellished to the spine with a row of nine graduated oval mixed-cut demantoid garnets, all silver set to a yellow gold mount, circa 1890, measuring approximately 6x1.9cm, gross weight 6.3 grams. This antique brooch is in excellent condition. Unmarked, tested as 14ct gold and silver. A wonderful late Victorian brooch in the shape of a lizard. Brooches in the shape of naturalistically formed insects and reptiles became popular in the late nineteenth century, and this realistically crafted lizard is a wonderful example of this style. The lizard is set throughout with glinting diamonds, with a line down its back of lime-green demantoid garnets. The eyes are set with glinting rubies and the lizard’s feet...
