Royal Air Force RAF Sweetheart Wings Brooch Collection Box Set, 1920

About the Item

In typical British style, these wonderful wings were not given to pilots, on the contrary, pilots gave them to the ladies of their hearts, as a sweet reminder of themselves. Its official name is Royal Air Force Sweetheart Brooch. A collection of four such brooches in the original box is a fine gift. Raging from 1920 to 1975. Like ordinary men, the pilots have different senses of beauty, from chic wings set with diamonds, to stylish gold ones with blue or green enamel. Her Majesty's Air Force (RAF) turned 100 years old in 2018. Celebrating this anniversary all the royal family members including the Late Queen Elisabeth, all the ladies were wearing these brooches. A true future classic, its value will be sure to rise as time goes by. It is a perfect item both for a fine jewelry collection and to be worn for special occasions. Well, worth of a fine jewelry collection. The Platinum Wings were originally purchased on Sotheby’s auction. The Blue Enamel one has Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1975. White Gold with green enamel wreath surround and crown surmount, to the diamond point wings.
