A splendid plique a jour sterling silver and enamel 'dragonfly' brooch, 1970s

About the Item

A beautiful plique a jour and sterling 'dragonfly' brooch, carefully created and designed. Probably made in the late 20th century, from resin (the plique a jour) , clear paste, all set in sterling silver , and maker unknown, it is beautifully depicted and a later fine homage to the memorable jewels of earlier days, Bell Epoque and Lalique, who often used the same motif. This is a striking, and refined piece.

His daughter and son in law continued with the business until 1977. In the 1950s he made jewellery for Christian Dior.
