Victorian Sapphire Rose Cut Diamond 3-Dimensnional Swan Brooch
About the Item
A magnificent sapphire and diamond swan pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in sterling silver topped 15kt yellow gold, this lovely piece features a three-dimensional swan with a beautiful and unusual design. At the center is the swan's elegantly long head and neck which extends outward, curving to the side, as it looks over its outstretched diamond encrusted wings. A 3ct oval-shaped faceted sapphire creates the bird's bodice, displaying a wonderful deep blue hue in its open back setting. Incredible Rose Cut diamonds line the wings in a shared prong setting, collectively weighing 0.80ctw, and sparkling at every turn! At the base of the piece are the swan's tail feathers, which curl upwards slightly and feature fine textured details, beautifully completing the design. A secure pin clasp is found on the back and a illegible hallmark is stamped on the pin's bar. A spectacular and unique Victorian pin, it looks marvelous from every angle and would make a special addition to any collection!
The pin has a 2 1/4" wingspan, measures 1/2" tall, and is 3/4" in depth where the head rests.
