Antique Georgian Double Stuart Crystal
About the Item
Four square pink tinged Stuart Crystals foiled and set in closed rounded backs of silver c. 1760 Great Britain. Each crystal is faceted giving a shadow box affect to the gold wire squiggle encased in the center
. The mystique of the crystals is embedded in the history of the jewels that were made to commemorate the execution of King Charles 1 under Cromwell's power. The crystals were made to memorialize the martyred Charles, who was of the house of Stuart. Populace wore rings, cufflinks, earrings and slides in sympathy of King Charles. 1 1/8 inches long. Fine condition.
