Art Deco 3.94 Carat Old Mine Diamond Target Earrings Yellow Gold Platinum 1940s

About the Item

A pair of Art Deco 3.94 carat Old Mine-cut diamond target earrings in 19.2kt yellow gold and platinum, Portuguese, 1940s. Each earring features a large Old Mine-cut diamond claw-set to the centre, surrounded by a halo of similarly-set smaller old-cut diamonds, all stones to a scalloped target cluster design which suspends from a single-stone diamond surmount, secured to reverse with a post and lever-back fitting. This articulated design makes this pair of earrings extremely sparkly, flashing with every movement. Main Diamonds: Old Mine-cut, approximately 1.22 carats (6.78 x 6.16 x 4.60 mm), K/L color (assessed), VS1 clarity (assessed); and antique elongated cushion-cut, approximately 1.02 carats (6.30 x 5.40 x 3.78 mm), H/I color (assessed), SI2 clarity (assessed). Remaining diamonds: approximately 1.70 carats in total. Lisbon “dove” hallmark (used 1938-1984). Dimensions: 2.0 x 1.4 cm. Gross weight: 6.39g. This item is in good condition, with marks and scratches consistent with general age and wear. Antique, period and vintage pieces, both signed and unsigned, are being offered as worn.
