Paul Amey 18k Gold, "Sleeping Beauty" Turquoise and Diamond Earrings
About the Item
The “Blue Angels” were designed and hand crafted by multi award-winning jeweller Paul Amey in Australia. Stamped with his registered makers mark and precious metal marks. The “Blue Angels” earrings were designed and completed with over 60 hours labour and finished in 2018. All components are masterfully handcrafted by Paul Amey with no casting or 3D imaging used. Diamond and stone settings were all carried out by Paul Amey.
The “Blue Angels” earrings are made in 18K yellow gold and platinum and feature a 22mm ‘Sleeping Beauty’ turquoise. Each earring “halo” contains 16 diamonds totalling 32 x 6pt FG SI round diamonds, that are platinum grain set. The earrings also feature an additional 9 diamonds in the edge surrounds of each earrings, totalling 18 diamonds. The earrings are mounted on threaded posts.

Each “Blue Angels” earring measures 22mm diameter and 9.1mm total thickness of the earring.
Both earrings have a total weight of 13.7 grams.
Paul Amey Jeweller
PAUL AMEY is an ARTIST, DESIGNER, MASTER GOLDSMITH and a fellow of the Gold & Silversmiths Guild of Australia. Paul Amey was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia with one grandfather a watchmaker, the other a jeweller. Jewellery was obviously in his blood! Paul has been a designer and manufacturing jeweller for over 50 years and is well renowned for his work in creating and producing beautiful high-quality jewellery with a dramatic flair completely by hand. Paul is still passionate about designing and producing special pieces. “I have fun with jewellery and so should customers - I give people choices they don’t get from other jewellers.” Paul has seen a great number of design changes and influences come and go, but he says “the fundamentals have always remained the same skilful design, excellent craftsmanship and an attention to detail.” Like the masters of old, using time-honoured techniques, he is creating modern masterpieces. “Each custom piece is crafted completely by hand, no computers, no mass production. My pieces are absolute original works of art, whether they be made from silver, gold or platinum.” Paul has a strong desire and flair for dramatic pieces, an early example being the making of the perpetual Western Australian Gold Swan Award. Also in recognition of his hand craftsmanship was the acceptance of his work by Sotheby's under its Art Category and recently being the recipient of two Precious Metal Awards.
