Antique Jade Necklace Seemingly Made from Fog Certified Untreated 23"
About the Item
Created by hand between 1910-1920, this 23" strand of natural, untreated, Burmese jadeite jade beads may perhaps seem unremarkable to the uninitiated. But for those of you who know and love jade, this the nearly colorless beads look as if they are made from San Francisco fog that has somehow been scraped together into a tangible mass and carved by hand into individual spheres.
Sixty-two 7.3mm 8.5mm nearly colorless light green jade beads create an ethereal necklace of 18" that is still on its original thick silk; stringing which appears still durable. A silver clasp -of a style seen on countless jade necklaces from this era, that were created mostly for tourists as cities like Shanghi opened up to the world.
It's a beautiful, classic, high-quality necklace. Each bead, individually hand-carved and polished. Ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that the jade is natural, untreated jadeite from Burma (Myanmar).
