Cherub Chatelaine Scent Bottle Pink Baroque Pearls Necklace

Claudette Necklace.

The history of perfume during the Regency Era is a fascinating subject and this stunning necklace pays homage to the creativity, workmanship and symbolic statement of that time. Creamy smooth delicate blush pink, white and light mauve baroque pearls have been hand linked to create a dramatic yet lady-like necklace. The unique pendant is a peridot green glass chatelaine scent bottle (circa 1900), hand painted with a whimsical winged cherub encircled with a gold embossed cartouche frame. A pink petal pearl, kite-shaped peridot briolette, London blue topaz faceted briolette and gold vermeil Fleur de Lis and Napoleonic bee charms - dangle sweetly from the finger ring and add a nod to the French provenance of this adorable perfume bottle. The back of this well preserved scent bottle shows the same gold embossed cartouche as the front. A makers mark, which appears to be a signed and numbered piece, is evident at the bottom of the glass bottle. The little glass stopper is intact, the embossed hinged lid closes securely and the original chain and finger ring are all in very good condition - a well loved and cherished antique.

This one of a kind pendant can easily be slipped off the necklace and the luxurious hand linked pearl chain can be worn separately. The fact that this romantic and fragile étuis has survived the years in such good condition is truly remarkable.
