An Important jade and diamond double strand necklace, the hundred-ninety-two jadeite jade beads, accompanied by GCS Report 77111-81 stating to be natural with no indication of impregnation and approximate weight 210 carats, graduating from the centre with twenty diamond-set spacers leading to an Art Deco diamond-set clasp, circa 1920, the rectangular openwork clasp set with three old brilliant-cut diamonds, each set to the centre of a square-shaped diamond-set surround and estimated to weigh 1.6 carats in total, set to a platinum and gold mount with snap fitting, bearing French marks, circa 1920, the necklace measuring approximately 52 x 1.5cm, total gross weight 56.8 grams. Unmarked tested as platinum and 18ct gold. This necklace is in excellent condition. This luxurious and magnificent jade bead necklace comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This important piece captures the glamorous essence of the Jazz Age. This necklace features 192 wonderfully vivid jadeite jade beads of wonderful quality set throughout with 20 glittering diamond spacers. The French 1920s clasp of this necklace is set with diamonds and is of a typical, geometric art deco design. Jade has carried with it a variety of symbolisms and meanings throughout the ages across different cultures: it is a romantic stone with a mystical quality to it. This remarkable necklace shows off the very best of Art Deco design.
