Jade Necklace Midcentury Muted Multicolor 35" Certified Untreated, Italian
About the Item
This sophisticated jade necklace features 76 9mm hand-carved round Burmese jadeite jade beads in a range of muted tones (the black beads are not jade).
The 35" necklace -still on its original string- dates from about 1950. Because these beads were entirely hand-carved and polished, they are not perfectly round, which makes them al the more beautiful. The necklace closes with an 18K yellow gold clasp, cunningly built into one of the black headstone beads. The clasp is marked Italy.
The palate is composed of several shades of light green, yellow, red, near-colorless. Even where they are opaque, these are translucent beads, so they change throughout the day with the light.
This stunning, one-of-a-kind necklace ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that the jade is untreated jadeite from Burma (Myanmar).
