This gorgeous necklace is a RARE design by "S Gamliel" a Victorian Era jewelry designer. So this piece easily dates back to the late 19th century. The oval shaped cabochon opal is beautifully set against the 14K yellow gold ropes that surround it and it's dainty seed pearl halo. The opal is just chock full of light and reflects such vibrant flashes of blue, pink, orange, yellow, and green hues. This handmade Victorian-era envelope locket pendant features a flap that unclicks with your fingernail, lifts up and reveals a 29 mm long, 19 mm tall envelope pocket with an internal depth of 3.54 mm, into which you could store several micro USB cards, stamps, a secret written on a sliver of paper or anything, really.
