About the Item
From the Orbit Collection - an 18 inch lustrous Akoya pearl necklace with an asymmetrically placed spiral, surrounded on either side by a 6mm heavy wall gold bead. The necklace is made with 7.5mm - 8mm white, round, lustrous Japanese Akoya pearls hand-tied with silk.
This necklace is currently available in 2-tone- 14ky gold and argentium silver with a strong magnetic clasp.
If you would like the spiral positioned differently, it can be re-tied and positioned to your liking. As it is positioned now, the spiral can be centered or worn slightly off center. The interlocking spiral is the foundation of the Orbit Collection. And what makes them fun as well as beautiful, the spirals move.
Another customization you could add to this necklace would be adding some tiny diamonds in the gold spiral - and I have included a photo of how that might look. (This will effect the final price).
A bit about Akoya pearls because they are so beautiful and special ...
Originating in Japan, these bead-nucleated cultured pearls are infamous for being perfectly round in shape.
Fine Akoya pearls feature incredibly sharp, and highly reflective Luster. Very fine Akoya are like looking into a convex mirror and display extremely detailed reflections – often you can see your face smiling back at you. Due to their perfectly round shapes, cultured Akoya pearls have a reputation for near-perfect matching. Akoya pearl strands will feature little to no variation from pearl to pearl throughout any given layout.
Akoya pearls must be properly cared for to keep their crystal looking bright and shiny. These pearls are sensitive to oils, perfumes, smoke, chlorine and other chemicals found in our environment. Wipe them down with a damp, soft cloth every time after wearing to remove residues from the pearls' surfaces.

The double-spiral is about 1" tall by 3/4" wide. And because of the way it is made, the spirals move, creating a different earring depending on movements.
