About the Item

A solid, 9k rose gold antique Edwardian Albert chain with alternating trombone and round uniform links with a T-bar. Every link is stamped ‘9' '375' the two swivel clips and t-bar are also marked. The t-bar is affixed to a large jump ring which gives it the ability to freely slide along the chain - a nice feature. The Albert chain can be dated to Birmingham, 1914 with the date letter 'n' to one of the small round links (see image). Weighing in at a pleasing 44.3g and measuring 16” or 400mm long the chain is a rare example with many similar chains having been scrapped for the gold. Traditionally worn as a watch chain suspending a pocket watch, Albert chains can also be worn as necklaces and used to suspend charms and pendants.
