About the Item
This is a striking and most unusual necklace. It consists of large X form pearls. These are freshwater cultured pearls which are almost completely composed of nacre. Nacre created by the oyster is the secretion that layer upon layer creates the shimmering, lustrous surface of pearls.
The necklace is inspired by traditional cross stitching no matter how remote the reference.
The pearl Xs are separated by polished round large aquamarine spheres. Flanking the aquamarines are small beads of finely colored lapis lazuli.
The pearls are graduated in size. Larger pearls are in the front, diminishing in size towards the clasp.
The clasp is mother of pearl and sterling silver toggle. The necklace measures approximately 16 1/2” long
