Georgian 15k Rose Cut Diamond Drop Pendant

About the Item

A gorgeous diamond pendant from the Georgian (ca1750) era! This beautiful piece is made of 15k yellow gold and sterling silver and detailed with 23 old Rose Cut diamonds. The pendant carries a wonderful and feminine design with a teardrop shaped frame hanging from a circular topper. The diamonds are prong set with a closed foiled back and the pendant hangs from a complimentary bail. It is a lovely piece and would make a perfect addition to any collection! Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 3/4" long, is 3/4” at the widest point and has a depth of 1/4”. Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and all of the diamonds are intact.

A magnificent pair of Day-to-Night earrings from the Georgian (ca1750s) era! Crafted in 15kt yellow gold and topped in sterling silver, these incredible earrings begin with an elegant floral cluster of 9 Rose Cut diamonds in patinaed collet settings. The cluster secures to the ear with hinged European back-to-front wires, one hand marked with “40". An elegant chandelier of Rose Cut diamonds can be threaded through the European wires, converting the pair from Day to Night, dangling with lovely movement. A total of twenty-one Rose Cut diamonds adorn the addition. Three tiers of three diamonds dangle from the setting, glittering as they catch the light and beautifully frame the face. This is a rare museum quality early Rose Cut Diamond Pendant dating to the Georgian Era set with an abundance of antique Rose Cut Diamonds set in silver atop 14 Karat gold as was the custom of the period. The pendant of great beauty and dating to the 1700s. Diamonds were all the rage in the Georgian period and this is a wonderful example. Early pieces such as this are extremely difficult to find. This one is so immensely wearable as the size is just perfect for wearing either day or night. It has stunning period character and style. The pendant is 68 mm (2 3/4 inches) long from the top of the bale to the bottom of the pendant. Without the bale it is 58 mm long. It is 45 mm (1 3/4 inches) wide at the widest point. The rose cut diamonds are set in silver collets atop 14 Karat gold. The gold bale is a later addition. There has been some restoration of the pendant as is visible from the back - this is very typical of the early Georgian jewels...
