About the Item
This exquisite hand crafted, one of a kind Baroque style necklace from designer Jill Garber features eight ( 8 ) finely carved, late nineteenth century natural shell cameos depicting Terpsichore, one of the nine Muses in Greek mythology paired with seven ( 7 ) high dome natural Persian turquoise cabochons dating to the mid 1960's. Terpsichore is the patron of lyric poetry and dance and is perhaps the most widely known of the Muses - as her name was entered into the general English language as an adjective pertaining to dancing.
Blending periods and styles as only Jill does, each element of this wonderful statement necklace is enhanced with elegant hand wrought detail and finesse. Engraved frames surround each museum like treasure - a talisman so beloved that it must be kept close to one's heart, upon the decollete'.
