Modernist Italian necklace with Tahitian pearls. This is a gorgeous statement necklace, created in Italy and stranded with twenty-seven cultured Tahitian black-gray pearls. The strand is securely mounted in a modern luxury security lock crafted in solid white and yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. The security lock is embellished with eight natural white colorless diamonds. Tahitian pearls Tahitian pearls are some of the rarest, most valuable, and most expensive, pearls on the planet. A single, large, top quality Tahitian pearl can cost anywhere up to $2000 dollars, while Tahitian pearl jewelry often ranges from $200 to $20,000. Often pearl buyers are puzzled by Tahitian pearl prices. Beautiful Tahitian pearls are among the largest pearls in the world, ranging in size from approximately 8 mm to 18 mm. The only larger commercially harvested pearls today are South Sea. The beauty of Tahitian pearls, however, is not limited to their size, but their incredible array of iridescent. While Tahitian pearls are often called black pearls, this is a bit of a misnomer because the colors of these gems have a spectacular color range - from iridescent whites, silvers and pastels to bright greens, golds, cherry, blue-purples and deep blacks. Diamonds: Mount in a pave setting, with 8 round brilliant cut diamonds, 0.48 carats, white colorless F/G color, VS-2 clarity. Pearls: Stranded in a black knotted cord, with 27 Tahitian black gray cultured pearls graduated between 15, 16 and 17 mm. Birthstone: Pearls for the month of June. Weight: 157.3 Grams, (100.85 Dwt). Lenght: 21 Inches, (53.35 Cm). Measurements: The lock clasp is 45 mm by 15 mm (1.77 x 0.59 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark and the mark for the assay of the 18 karats gold, ".750".
