A French Pendant Locket of museum quality with a scene of frolicking Cherubs (Putti, Angels) done En Grisaille, and set in a silver setting with magnificent Black Dot Paste stones. The early antique jewel dates to the early to mid 19th Century. The painting of the cherubs is "en grisaille," or in black and white and shades of grey. The painting is the work of a master - it has stunning details with the three cherubs frolicking with grapes and leaves, reminiscent of Bachus.
