Renoir MidCentury ArtNouveau-Style Copper Openwork Curvilinear Link Necklace
About the Item
With organically-shaped copper openwork links recalling the rhythmic motifs of American architect Louis Sullivan from the Art-Nouveau period, this Renoir mid-century curvilinear 17-link necklace is signed on the hook of its clasp. An extension chain with textured round links ends in a signature hangtag symbol.
As there is a copyright symbol with the script signature, the necklace does not date earlier than 1955 or later than 1964 when the line was last produced. Its condition is excellent with microscopic scratches seen in very bright light around the signature.
Renoir also produced the line Matisse, which is decorated with enamel.
