Understated and elegant, and yet 600-odd years in the making, this asymmetric rose gold and silver open shank collar is produced using an ancient Albanian technique which was brought to Palermo, Sicily in the fifteenth century. The necklace contains 3.4 carats of pavé-set, rose-cut white diamonds placed into two disks of .925 silver, blackened. The large disk is 23.48 mm across and the smaller one is 18.18 mm. The collar has a 4.7 x 7.1-inch opening (12x18 cm). The collar and the elegant base of the two disks are made from 9-karat rose gold. Looking for a set? What has resulted is a jewellery technique unique almost specifically to Palermo, which relies on knowledge and handcrafting methods that have stood the test of time. Designed and hand-made at FANCS V in the heart of Sicily's capital city, Palermo. FANCS V is a three-generation Sicilian family jeweller that is now owned and run by husband and wife team, Simona Elia and Natale Vitale. Created by Natale's grandfather, FANCS V now features designs by Simona, who is a Milanese sculptor. Today, FANCS V defines itself as a couturier of jewels and Simona and Natale produce both custom pieces for clients as well as their signature collections.
