Antique Victorian 15K Gold Blue Enamel Love Knot Pendant
About the Item
A Victorian turquoise and seed pearl love knot pendant, made around 1860-1880. The velvety 15 karat gold love knot swirls around the enameled turquoise dome which is embellished with a gold star-shaped figure and studded with a seed pearl in the center. Turquoise enamel was often used as it stood for “forget me not” after the flower of the same name.
The symbolism around knots centres on everlasting love. It is the unbreakable bond and eternal connection between two lovers. The association of knots with love has appeared in many different cultures since ancient times.
The pendant is in very good condition and of high quality. The measurement of the pendant is 1.7 centimeters in diameter, excluded bail. The weight of the pendant is 3.53 grams. The pendant comes without the chain.
The pendant will be gift-wrapped in a black and gold jewelry box.
