Details:
Art Nouveau Butterfly Brooch Plique-a-Jour in sterling silver in beautiful shades of pinks, peaches and green. The body of the Butterfly is made up of two vibrant pink turmalines, and the little dotted details are tiny sweet pearls. The green circular details on the wings are enamel. German origin by the jeweler Meyle & Mayer circa 1900. Plique-a-jour is an enamel process from the 15th century that allows light through the enameling, so they look like little pieces of stained glass. There are multiple hallmarks on the backside: DEPOSE, Meyle & Mayer Logo, and it is stamped 900. This piece is in good condition with fabulous details! You will not be disappointed!
