About the Item

A Silver Tetradrachm [coin] minted at Magnesia from Ancient Ionia, or present day Greece. This remarkable coin is from the Kingdom of Thrace, whose ruler was Lysimachus (323-281 BС). This coin is trimmed in 18 karat gold with wonderful orb accents on the bail. On the obverse side is the Diademed head of Alexander the Great facing right, wearing the ram's horn of Ammon. On the reverse side, Athena seated left on an ornamented throne, holding Nike which crowns the kings name, and resting her left arm on a shield. This coin has been inspected and approved to be authentic by a professional Numismatic who specializes in ancient coinage. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany this coin.
