THIS IS A RARE PHOTO ALBUM BOOK FORM VICTORIAN PICTURE LOCKET PENDANT OR CHARM IN GOLD WITH A BIRD IN A BRANCH MOTIF IN BLACK ENAMEL WITH PEARL ADORNMENTS.
The locket itself is 10 Karat Gold. The large bale is 14 Karat Gold.
The stunning locket is in a photo album form. It opens up to reveal places for four photos. The front is adorned with a bird on a leafy branch design with black enamel and seed pearls as berries on the branch. The reverse has an enamel decoration with "Album" in the center. The locket has lovely engraving on both sides.
The locket opens from the top on both sides and folds down revealing the oval frames for four photos. There are three original photos present which can be easily removed if desired. The piece is very rare and wonderful! The locket dates to the Victorian period, circa 1860-1900.
The locket portion alone is 24mm by 18mm by 9mm deep. With the bales the locket is 1 3/8 inches (36mm) tall.
The locket is 10 Karat gold. The large bale is 14 Karat Gold
