Jade, Diamond and Quartz Pendant

About the Item

This jade, diamond, and quartz pendant is a study in translucency. The 25.5mm x 17.5mm oval natural quartz cabochon at the top is semi-transparent and glows like partially melted ice. Hanging freely from the mounting that holds the quartz is a 17.67mm x 14.22mm double-cabochon of light green water jade. "Water jade" and "ice jade" are two descriptors you may have encountered. What do they mean and what's the difference? Both refer to highly translucent jadeite jade. "Water jade" has a light coloring to it. while "ice jade" is colorless. The watery green jadeite jade cabochon you see here is semi-transparent and if you hold it up to the light, you can nearly see through it. The jade, along with the 4.8mm approximately .30-carat old European-cut diamond move as you move, the bright white (G/H) and fiery diamond fixed to the bottom of the mounting of the jade. The hand-made setting was crafted from silver and features long, elegantly tapered prongs holding both the quartz and the jadeite securely in place. Four prongs also secure the diamond and are crimped over the edges so that it stays in place. Up top is a D-shaped bale that measures approximately 4.28mm across and 6.64mm from north to south, allowing you to thread a thick chain or cord through the pendant. I've shown the pendant with two different chains. This mesmerizing, chic pendant is perfect to wear every day as a signature piece. You'll never grow weary of looking at it because jade changes constantly; it's a different stone every time you look at it. This lush green stone is deeper and darker in the shadows and light and bright in the sun. It's endlessly fascinating. The pendant measures 59.52mm from the top of the bale to the bottom of the diamond and 17.74mm west to eat. It weighs 11.87 grams and it ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that the jadeite is untreated from Burma (Myanmar).
